So... I couldn't build a school in Africa this week, and it's probably not a good idea to go to the Humane Society and adopt all of their dogs right now, because lets get real- I live in teacher housing, I would have went to the grocery store and got a huge order to drop off to the food bank- but then.. well I'd go hungry, and wouldnt live to do this project and write this blog- and I can't die without seeing Spain, Thailand, Morocco and Peru so clearly that wasn't an option.
As I sat at my desk as school (second home) willingly; I must add, I love being in my classroom, it's filled with pictures and memories and creative "stuff" from kids, and I'm constantly reminded that I am where I'm supposed to be, teaching is pretty damn gratifying!!! It got me thinking, would I enjoy this amazing profession so much, if I was teaching elsewhere? I mean, I have the coolest bosses, three to be exact. And one of them, well shes like everything wrapped into one for me. Somethings I think of her as a mom away from home, other days shes like the close friend you can vent to, and everyday she is just an easy-going, laid back, on-the-ball boss! Shouldn't that be recognized?
I wish I could do more for her, and my other bosses, and my colleagues, students, friends and family, but I guess starting small is better than nothing!
I got a card- it says "Thank-You". That's it! I wrote a special little message about why I appreciate her, and left it anonymous, I mean no one wants to be a suck up. But she deserves a thank you!
If you happen to come across this Anna- opps, I'm busted! But if she never finds out, whom her mystery card giver is, I'm fine with that too! Everyone deserves to be appreciated..I hope it makes her day and makes her smile!
That's what this project is all about! So, go pick up a card, or make one, drop it off or mail it, and let someone know how important they are to you- Kindness spreads, I'm sure they'll keep it going!
Happy Hump-Day Friends
